The newer version, the Zap It, the light is on on a regular basis or you turn it off & have to show it on manually whenever you go trying to find the little black bugs which might be driving you crazy. Perhaps mine is defective but I don't love that feature. I either have go away it on all day & drain the battery or I should take the time to turn it on & then attempt to search out the black critter that has been driving me crazy. The description says "Press the activation button on your bug zapper racket, and an indicator mild glows" I've tried it several occasions & there isn't a light glowing. I purchased 2 of them & will strive the other one in the present day to see if perhaps the first one I opened may be defective. If the sunshine does not keep on on a regular basis on the 2nd one that may verify the first one is defective. If the 2nd one stays on on a regular basis then I'll know that they are both in all probability going again as a result of I don't like leaving the sunshine on on a regular basis. Ok, I've now tried both of the new ones & just obtained & neither one has an indicator gentle that flows while you press the activation button & the LED gentle stays on on a regular basis. My outdated one the light solely comes on whenever you press the activation button. So, my opinion is this zapper took a step backwards by way of efficiency from the previous version. The description on the web site is flawed & it is unquestionably not as described. Waste of cash! Add insult to injury & this item is non returnable & there is nothing listed on the Amazon webpage.
